Scotland and England unveil athletes for Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games

Scottish Swimming announced a 23‑member squad to represent Scotland at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The roster includes double European U23 champion Keanna MacInnes, two‑time Commonwealth medallist Katie Shanahan, veterans Duncan Scott and Angharad Evans, as well as emerging swimmers such as Archie Goodburn and Lucy Hope. Shanahan expressed her excitement, saying she is “absolutely delighted to be picked for my second Commonwealth Games” and looks forward to competing on home soil.

Ahead of the same Games, England’s 3x3 basketball star Shanice Beckford‑Norton said she is targeting gold in Glasgow. She highlighted the local atmosphere, noting “it’s not a home Games, but it’s local enough to still have that feel,” and emphasized the chance to inspire future generations. Beckford‑Norton pledged a “gold is the standard” mindset after England’s strong showing at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Both delegations are preparing for the upcoming multi‑sport event, which will feature the debut of 3x3 basketball in place of the traditional five‑on‑five format.
