Scotland launches £15 million flood resilience fund

The Scottish Government has introduced a £15 million fund to boost flood resilience in the most vulnerable communities across Scotland. The money will support local groups, authorities and coastal towns with projects such as sustainable drainage, green spaces, planting and other nature‑based solutions to lower flood risk and improve existing infrastructure.

Public Health Scotland will create an interactive tool that combines flood‑risk data with population and demographic information to pinpoint at‑risk groups. A new Flood Advisory Service will help local authorities deliver major flood‑protection schemes more efficiently. Cabinet Secretary for Climate Action Gillian Martin said the package fulfills the government's 100‑day commitment to protect people, homes and livelihoods from the growing impacts of climate change.
