Scotland thieves face jail after series of burglaries and car thefts

Jay Ferguson, 21, and Jamie Soutar, 19, face lengthy jail terms following a series of thefts and criminal acts in Scotland. Ferguson pleaded guilty to 13 charges, including breaking into homes in Edinburgh and Musselburgh, stealing vehicles, and robbing a beauty salon in Cockenzie of jewelry and electronics.

Soutar pleaded guilty to participating in vehicle thefts and fuel theft from a Shell garage in Midlothian. The pair also admitted to breaking into a restaurant and a chip shop. Additionally, Soutar pleaded guilty to road traffic offenses after leading police on a high-speed pursuit in November, during which he drove dangerously, mounted footpaths, and collided with parked vehicles while holding only a provisional license.
