Scott Bakula to star in new CBS detective drama

Scott Bakula is set to star in and executive produce an untitled high-concept detective procedural currently in early development at CBS. The series will be set in Los Angeles.

The project is written and executive produced by Mike Sussman, known for his work on Star Trek: Enterprise, Perception, and 12 Monkeys. The series comes from Dean Devlin’s Electric Entertainment, marking the production company’s first foray into broadcast television.

This marks a return to CBS for Bakula, who previously led the network’s NCIS: New Orleans for seven seasons. His character in the new series is described as a “leap” from his previous role, a reference to his work on Quantum Leap.
