Scott “Carrot Top” Thompson hospitalized after suicide attempt

Comedian Scott “Carrot Top” Thompson is recovering in a hospital following a suicide attempt at his Las Vegas home on September 18. According to 911 call recordings and court documents, a female caller discovered the 61-year-old performer nearly unconscious by a pool, noting his face was turning blue and his eyes were rolling back.

Thompson’s representative stated that the performer is now awake, breathing on his own, and improving while under close medical care. Previous reports suggested the incident may have involved an overdose of prescription pills. As a result of the incident, Thompson’s residency at the Luxor Hotel and Casino has been canceled.

The details of the attempt were disclosed in court filings by Thompson’s attorney during a legal dispute with his former opening act, Brian Evans. Thompson’s legal team is seeking protective relief against Evans, alleging that the former performer attempted to extort $500,000 by threatening to release a sex tape. Evans has denied these allegations, stating the video in question was deleted long ago.
