Scott Coker unveils Ki MMA promotion and Grand Prix
Former Strikeforce and Bellator executive Scott Coker has unveiled his new mixed martial arts promotion, Ki MMA. The organization is expected to launch in 2027 and will distinguish itself by hosting fights inside a ring rather than a cage.
The promotion’s centerpiece will be an ambitious 32-man Featherweight World Grand Prix. This tournament will feature eight fighters each from North America, South America, Asia, and Europe. Competitors will advance through regional qualifying events to determine continental champions, who will then compete in a grand finale to crown the inaugural featherweight champion.
Ki MMA aims to target promising fighters aged 18 to 25 while remaining aggressive in the free-agent market. Coker, supported by a leadership team including Chief Content Officer Kevin Kay and Chief Operating Officer Tom Fox, stated the promotion intends to “shake the cage” and revitalize interest in the MMA space. The organization reportedly launched with $60 million in financing.
