Scott D’Amore details Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling's seasonal TV model and scouting
Scott D’Amore, founder of Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling (MLP), has detailed the promotion’s unique seasonal television model and its approach to talent scouting. MLP recently concluded its 12-episode ‘Mayhem’ season, which aired on TSN in Canada and streamed internationally via AEW’s MyAEW service. D’Amore noted that the limited-series format allows for defined story arcs but presents creative challenges due to the limited television time available to develop multiple wrestlers.
Regarding talent acquisition, D’Amore utilizes a combination of social media monitoring and industry networking. He relies on reports from wrestlers working on regional circuits across Canada, the United States, and globally to identify emerging talent. D’Amore expressed that while major organizations like WWE and AEW are the ultimate goals for many performers, his objective is to establish MLP as a reputable platform that can successfully graduate talent to those larger companies.
