Scott Frost named Bear Bryant National Coach of the Week

UCF football head coach Scott Frost has been named the Bear Bryant National Coach of the Week following the program's highest-ranked victory in history. The Knights secured a 39-31 double overtime upset against No. 2 BYU.

The victory marks the first time UCF has defeated a top-five opponent. The game concluded with a series of controversial events during regulation, including an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty by BYU, a missed field goal attempt by UCF that was blocked, and a disputed 10-second runoff following a helmet removal during the ball recovery. These events ultimately forced the game into overtime, where UCF secured the win.

With this achievement, Frost now holds the record for the most wins over ranked opponents in UCF program history, accounting for four of the team's 11 ranked victories.
