Conservative commentator Scott Jennings has emerged as a potential candidate to replace White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who is set to depart her position at the end of August. Jennings, a former advisor to Senator Mitch McConnell and a veteran of the George W. Bush administration, has reportedly met with White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles regarding the role.

While some reports suggest Jennings is a favorite of President Donald Trump, other reports indicate that certain administration insiders may be attempting to derail his candidacy. These efforts are allegedly linked to Jennings’ long-standing ties to Senator McConnell and his past criticisms regarding the events of January 6.
