Scott Redding and Kyle Ryde share wins at Assen BSB opener

The opening round of the 2026 British Superbike Championship Showdown at the TT Circuit Assen saw victories shared between Scott Redding and Kyle Ryde.

In the first race, Redding took the lead early and held off rivals despite changing weather conditions. Light rain eventually led to a red flag, resulting in a podium for Redding, Bradley Ray, and Ryde. The race start was initially delayed due to an oil cooler pipe failure on Rory Skinner’s motorcycle.

In the final race, Ryde secured a victory after a intense final-lap battle at the iconic chicane, narrowly beating Ray and Redding. Redding, who had won the previous races, attempted unconventional maneuvers in a late-race charge to secure a triple win but ultimately finished third. Ryan Vickers also performed strongly, setting lap records during the event.
