Scott Redding wins first British Superbike race at Assen

Scott Redding secured a victory in the first British Superbike race of the 2026 Showdown at the TT Circuit Assen. After a challenging qualifying session marked by changing weather conditions, Redding demonstrated strong pace on a dry track, moving from the second row to take the lead by the end of the first lap.

During the qualifying phase, Leon Haslam claimed pole position with a time of 1’43.905, benefiting from laps completed before the rain intensified. The session was complicated by riders choosing between slick and rain tires as conditions fluctuated. While Bradley Ray and Kyle Ryde faced difficulties during qualifying, Ryde managed to secure a fourth-place start for the race.

In the race itself, Redding outperformed the field on the dry circuit, while Haslam dropped to fifth place during the opening lap.
