Scott Roth extends Tasmania JackJumpers contract through 2029
Scott Roth, the championship-winning head coach of the Tasmania JackJumpers, has signed a two-year contract extension that will see him remain with the club until the end of the 2028/29 NBL season. The 63-year-old American has led the team since its inaugural season in 2021 and guided them to a title in only their third year of existence.
Roth stated that this extension will be his final role in Australia, noting his desire to provide continuity and a “runway” for the club to transition to a new head coach. He emphasized the importance of maintaining standards and supporting the club through its current period of growth, which includes the move to a new high-performance centre and the debut of the Tasmania Jewels in the WNBL.
JackJumpers chair Steve Old praised Roth for building the club’s culture and identity. Roth expressed deep gratitude to the Tasmanian community for the support shown to his family during his tenure.
