Carrot Top released from hospital after suicide attempt

Comedian Carrot Top, born Scott Thompson, has been released from a Las Vegas hospital and is recovering at home with his family following a suicide attempt on September 18. Thompson was found unconscious near his backyard pool after reportedly overdosing on prescription medication.

Police reports indicate the incident occurred after Thompson spoke with his manager regarding an upcoming article that allegedly contained accusations of sexual misconduct. During the call, Thompson reportedly expressed concern that his long-running Las Vegas residency would end. Shortly after the conversation, he sent his manager a one-word text reading, “Done.”

The medical emergency has unfolded alongside an ongoing legal dispute. Thompson’s attorneys have filed for protective relief, alleging that musician Brian Evans attempted to extort the comedian for $500,000 by threatening to release a sexually explicit video. Evans has denied these allegations, stating the video was deleted long ago.

Due to the hospitalization, Thompson’s scheduled performances at the Luxor Hotel and Casino have been canceled. His representatives stated he is doing well and has been sharing moments of humor with medical staff during his recovery.
