Scott Waugh directs ‘Runner’ starring Alan Ritchson and Owen Wilson

The new action-comedy film ‘Runner’, directed by Scott Waugh, features Alan Ritchson and Owen Wilson in a high-stakes mission set on Australia’s Gold Coast. The plot follows Hank Malone, a US immigrant and former military man working as a delivery runner in Brisbane, and Ben Bishop, a courier. The duo must protect a human organ intended for a terminally ill girl from a cartel led by Dámian Zaldívar.

Director Scott Waugh, who has a background in stunt work on films such as ‘Speed’ and ‘The Expendables 4’, describes the film as a throwback to the 1980s and 1990s action style seen in movies like ‘Lethal Weapon’. The film focuses on immersive, stunt-driven action and character dynamics between the taciturn Malone and the more charming Bishop.
