Williams addressed the incident via TikTok, clarifying that his reaction was not directed at Sedláček but was a result of self-disappointment over missed doubles and high scores. “I was angry at myself,” Williams stated, adding that he intended to apologize to Sedláček personally the next time they meet.

Despite the emotional outburst, Williams noted that his runner-up finish earned him £10,000, though he expressed frustration over missed opportunities to secure a higher prize amount and better world ranking points.
