Scottie Scheffler eyes more overseas tournaments under new PGA Tour schedule

World No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler arrived in Scotland for the Genesis Scottish Open and spoke about the PGA Tour’s upcoming two‑track system, set to begin in the 2028 season. The new format will give players more fall weeks to compete in international events, and Scheffler said he is interested in playing in places such as Australia and New Zealand while balancing his family life.

Scheffler, who is defending his Open Championship title, highlighted that the fall is a special time for his young family – toddlers Bennett, now two, and Remy, born in March – and that he wants to fit overseas tournaments around family commitments. He noted the different green speeds in Scotland and expressed excitement about future opportunities abroad.
