Scottish distilleries release rare aged whisky expressions

Glengoyne has released a 17-year-old whisky as the fourth installment in its Oak Masters’ Series. This expression utilizes sustainably harvested Scottish oak from Killearn, located approximately five miles from the distillery. The use of local Scottish oak is noted as a rarity in an industry typically reliant on American or European wood casks.

In a separate release, Murray McDavid has bottled a Glen Scotia 33-year-old single malt from the 1991 vintage as part of its ULTRA series. Matured in single cask #8, the release is limited to 167 bottles worldwide and is bottled at 48.7% ABV. The whisky originates from the Glen Scotia Distillery in the Campbeltown region.
