Scottish MSP Martyn Day marries Nidhin Chand in Kerala

Scottish National Party Member of the Scottish Parliament, Martyn Day, married Nidhin Chand at the Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple in Kerala, India. The ceremony fulfilled Chand’s long-standing wish to hold a traditional wedding at the shrine.

The couple had previously registered their marriage in the United Kingdom nine years ago. The traditional ceremony in Kerala was delayed for several years due to factors including the COVID-19 pandemic and regional flooding.

Chand, a native of Piravom, moved to the UK in 2008 to pursue higher studies in IT Management. The couple met in 2016 while Chand was campaigning before parliamentary committees regarding visa regulation changes. The wedding celebrations were attended by close friends and relatives and were held at the Pushpanjali Auditorium.
