Scottish universities secure top spots in UK academic rankings

Scottish universities have secured top positions in recent academic rankings. The University of Stirling has been named both the Scottish University of the Year and the UK Sports University of the Year by the Daily Mail University Guide. The guide cited Stirling’s rising rankings, strong academic performance, and high-quality facilities as key factors in its success.

In a separate ranking, the University of St Andrews took the top spot in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2027, surpassing both Oxford and Cambridge. The London School of Economics and Political Science ranked second, while Imperial College London took third place and was named University of the Year 2027. Imperial’s rise was attributed to its research quality and graduate prospects.
