Scotty 2 Hotty reflects on Too Cool and Rikishi partnership

Former WWE wrestler and current AEW producer Scotty 2 Hotty (Scott Garland) recently shared insights regarding his career and the formation of the wrestling tag team Too Cool.

Reflecting on the addition of Rikishi to the Too Cool duo in 1999, Scotty noted initial skepticism about how the pairing would work following Rikishi’s rebranding from The Sultan. However, he described the chemistry as “magic,” noting the group’s successful performance at the Royal Rumble 2000.

Scotty also discussed the origins of his signature “worm” dance move, which he learned during childhood breakdancing trends. He explained how the move transitioned from a way to make colleagues laugh during house shows to a central part of his character that eventually garnered significant crowd participation, aided by commentary from Jerry Lawler.
