Scout Motors unveils two Traveler SUV concepts
Scout Motors has unveiled two concept versions of its upcoming Traveler SUV, designed to demonstrate the versatility of a single electric vehicle platform. The concepts, named Mountainside and a trail-ready version, are intended to showcase the vehicle's ability to function as both a refined daily driver and a rugged off-road explorer.
The Mountainside concept focuses on luxury and comfort, featuring a charcoal-brown Morning Dusk paint finish, light brown leather, and recycled walnut wood trim. In contrast, the trail-ready concept emphasizes capability with Galvanized Steel paint, full-metal bumpers, an integrated front winch, and 35-inch off-road tires on black beadlock wheels.
Revived by the Volkswagen Group, Scout Motors aims to compete in the rugged SUV market against established models like the Jeep Wrangler and Ford Bronco. The company expects customer deliveries for the Traveler SUV to begin in 2028, with an emphasis on extended-range versions to meet anticipated demand. Both concepts will be displayed at the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Experience in Colorado.
