Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders defeat Charlotte Knights 2-0

In Minor League Baseball action, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders defeated the Charlotte Knights 2-0 in a seven-inning game. Anthony Volpe provided the decisive scoring with a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Adam Kloffenstein earned the win with six innings of scoreless pitching, striking out eight, while Hayden Merda secured the save.

In other results, the Birmingham Barons shut out the Chattanooga Lookouts 8-0. Left-hander Shane Murphy led the Barons with seven scoreless innings, allowing only four hits and striking out six. Caleb Bonemer contributed to the victory with his 13th home run of the season.
