Scrovegni Chapel hosts free evening art events for youth
The Scrovegni Chapel in Padua is hosting a special series of free evening events titled ‘Blu Giotto’ for young people aged 11 to 25. Scheduled for four Sundays in October 2026, the initiative by Teatro de LiNUTILE offers an unconventional way to experience Giotto’s famous frescoes. Participants will view the artworks while lying on cushions on the floor, accompanied by live classical music and theatrical performances.
The program includes two shifts per evening: one at 19:00 for those under 16 and their families, and another at 19:20 for those under 25. While entry is free, mandatory reservations are required due to limited capacity. The experience also features historical and artistic introductions by actors and a final discussion session for participants to share their perspectives.
Separately, guided tours of the 14th-century chapel remain available, offering professional insights into Giotto’s revolutionary fresco cycle, which marked a shift toward more naturalistic styles in Italian art.
