SCS Software announces updates for Euro Truck Simulator 2

SCS Software has announced several upcoming features for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator, centered around the 1.62 update and the new Coaches DLC.

For the 1.62 update, the developer is expanding the Improved Material System to the Iveco S-Way in Euro Truck Simulator 2 and the Volvo VNL in American Truck Simulator, enhancing the visual detail of vehicle interiors. Additionally, the update will feature a complete overhaul of truck garages across the base map and all published map expansions. These redesigned garages aim to provide a more modern and immersive experience, reflecting company growth through improved interior and exterior details, though developers noted the challenge of maintaining game performance during this optimization.

Separately, SCS Software is developing the Coaches DLC, which will introduce long-distance buses to the franchise. Recent gameplay footage showcases the mechanics of these vehicles, including a centrifugal force system where passengers react to sharp turns or sudden braking.
