SDAIA opens registration for personal data protection regulatory track

The Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) has opened registration for a personal data protection track within its experimental regulatory environment for data. This initiative, accessible via the National Data Governance Platform, aims to assist private companies in developing products and services that rely on personal data processing while ensuring compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law and its executive regulations.

The registration period will remain open for two months. The program is specifically designed for licensed private entities operating within Saudi Arabia whose innovative products or services involve personal data processing. By participating, companies can test their solutions under regulatory supervision during the early stages of development, helping to identify regulatory requirements related to data collection, processing, and usage.

The process includes stages of application, readiness assessment, evaluation, testing, and follow-up. This regulatory sandbox is intended to foster innovation while balancing technological advancement with the protection of individual rights and the promotion of responsible data practices.
