Sde Teiman detention camp faces allegations of systematic prisoner abuse

Human rights organizations and international bodies have documented systematic abuses against Palestinian prisoners at the Sde Teiman detention camp in the Negev desert. The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has detailed specific methods of abuse, including simulated drowning and the use of dogs against detainees.

In 2024, the Israeli organization B’Tselem denounced an institutional policy of abuse affecting all prisoners, noting the perceived passivity of the Israeli Supreme Court. Additionally, the International Committee of the Red Cross reported that it has been denied access to these detention centers.
