Mazloum Abdi announces dissolution of SDF and integration into Syrian state
Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa met with Mazloum Abdi, the former leader of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), to discuss the integration of military and civil forces into Syrian state institutions. During a press conference, Abdi announced the dissolution of the SDF and its full merger into the state framework.
While the SDF is being dissolved, Abdi indicated that certain military structures would be maintained under new designations, such as brigades in Qamishli, Derik, and Kobani. The move marks a significant shift from the previous autonomous administration toward full integration within the Syrian state.
