SDN Mboeng in East Nusa Tenggara to undergo revitalization

The Indonesian Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) has pledged to revitalize SDN Mboeng, a state elementary school in East Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The commitment follows public attention on social media regarding the school's dilapidated condition, specifically noting that the facility received Smart TV assistance despite having severely damaged buildings.

Director of Primary Education, Moch. Salim Somad, stated that a team has been deployed to assess the site and identify urgent repair needs. The revitalization program is expected to roll out this year, focusing on repairing heavily damaged classrooms and emergency learning spaces. Currently, the school serves 84 students across six study groups with 10 staff members. Of its five permanent buildings, two classrooms are in such poor condition they cannot be used optimally, forcing the use of four emergency classrooms, some of which were built through community self-help.
