SDP candidate Adebayo addresses 2027 elections and Ebola concerns
Prince Adewole Adebayo, the presidential candidate for the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has issued several statements regarding Nigeria's political and public health landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking in Abuja, Adebayo emphasized that the media must defend democracy and avoid commercializing coverage, which he warned could “starve democracy to death.” He stressed that good governance relies on the citizens' right to choose uncoerced leaders through free and fair elections.
Addressing recent health concerns, Adebayo warned against attempts to cancel political campaigns or postpone the 2027 elections due to the Ebola outbreak. He argued that a single confirmed case does not constitute an epidemic and noted that Nigeria successfully contained a previous outbreak in 2014. He maintained that public health can be managed without disrupting the electoral process.
