SDRF rescues person from sand-extraction boat in Chenab River
A State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team rescued a person from a sand-extraction boat that was swept away by strong currents in the Chenab River near Pul-Doda, Jammu and Kashmir.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday after the boat's rope snapped. The vessel drifted downstream, leaving the individual stranded in the river between Malwas and Khileni.
Ghulam Nabi, the in-charge of the SDRF water rescue team in Doda, stated that the operation was challenging due to the difficult location where the boat drifted. The team successfully rescued the person and subsequently brought the boat to the riverbank.
