SDRF Uttarakhand completes ISO 9001 certification process
The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Uttarakhand has successfully completed the process for ISO 9001 certification at its battalion headquarters in Jolly Grant. This achievement aims to standardize and improve the quality, efficiency, and accountability of disaster management and rescue services within the state.
As part of the certification process, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) conducted an audit on July 14, 2026. The evaluation covered administrative systems, training protocols, documentation, resource management, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). SDRF Uttarakhand is working toward becoming the first agency in the field of disaster management to receive this specific ISO 9001 certification.
Commandant Arpan Yaduvanshi noted that the initiative aligns with the directives of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to modernize disaster response through advanced technology and expert training. The certification is expected to facilitate more effective, rapid, and organized relief and rescue operations during emergencies.
