SDSM accuses Mickoski of protecting officials over Mladic posts
The Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM) has accused Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski of protecting government officials following a controversy involving posts that glorified convicted war criminal Ratko Mladic.
The opposition party claims that Minister for Local Self-Government Ivan Stoilkovski and Dalibor Kitanović, Director of the Agency for the Realization of the Rights of Communities, have neither resigned nor been dismissed. SDSM argues that Mickoski’s decision to treat the deletion of the controversial social media posts as a sufficient response, rather than pursuing criminal responsibility, undermines state institutions.
SDSM further alleged that Mickoski is exerting influence over the prosecution. The party also criticized Miroslav Trickovic, Director of the Administration for the Development and Promotion of Education of Languages of Communities, accusing him of publishing hate speech against the opposition and its leader, Venko Filipce.
