SDSM accuses Prime Minister Mickoski of protecting convicted individual

The Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM) has raised allegations against Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski regarding the status of a convicted individual known as S. Z., or “Sime.” During a press conference, SDSM spokesperson Bogdanka Kuzeska presented new photographs appearing to show Sime in the company of the Prime Minister during recent field activities.

SDSM claims that Sime, who was previously arrested with significant quantities of drugs, weapons, ammunition, and cash, is not currently serving his prison sentence. The opposition party alleges that Sime is being utilized by the VMRO-DPMNE party to exert pressure and intimidation in Brvenica. Kuzeska further linked the timing of Sime's arrest to a major drug seizure in Serbia, suggesting a pattern of criminal protection.

The party has formally called upon the Prosecutor's Office to investigate why the individual remains free and who authorized his release. VMRO-DPMNE has responded by dismissing the claims, pivoting the focus to SDSM's recent electoral performance in local elections.
