SDSM calls for science-based sexual education for youth

At a youth forum titled ‘Without Taboos, With Knowledge – Youth and Sexual Education’, members of the SDSM party called for the government to stop obstructing access to science-based sexual education.

SDSM President Venko Filipce stated that the current government is implementing policies that run contrary to the needs of young people and limits their access to education regarding health, psychophysical development, and healthy interpersonal relationships. He emphasized that the educational system must be based on scientific facts to provide quality knowledge and institutional support.

Dr. Ana Daneva, a gynecologist and head of the SDSM Health Commission, highlighted the health benefits of sexual education, specifically its role in preventing unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections, as well as fostering healthy habits and a responsible attitude toward one's body.
