SDSM proposes 15% increase for disability benefits in North Macedonia

SDSM Member of Parliament Jovana Trenčevska has proposed an amendment in the Assembly to increase the special allowance for children with disabilities up to the age of 26 by 15%.

The proposal seeks to allocate an additional 20 million denars to fund this increase. Trenčevska stated that the amendment is a direct response to requests from families who have been appealing for higher support for two years, arguing that current state assistance is insufficient to cover their needs.

She noted that since 2024, there have been no increases to the special allowance for children with disabilities or other child and social protection rights.
