SDSM proposes minimum wage increase and agricultural subsidies
SDSM President Venko Filipce has proposed increasing the minimum wage in North Macedonia to 600 euros to help workers and families cope with rising living costs. To prevent this from becoming an undue burden on the private sector, Filipce suggested subsidizing social security contributions for companies.
Additionally, SDSM has submitted a draft law to provide direct financial assistance to various agricultural sectors. The proposal includes specific subsidies for grape growers, pepper producers, wheat farmers, livestock owners, and rice producers. For example, the plan suggests compensation for grape growers who are unable to sell their crops and per-kilogram support for pepper and rice production.
