SDSM supports LDP initiative to restrict dual citizenship for officials

The Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM) has expressed support for an initiative by the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) regarding restrictions on dual citizenship. SDSM stated that they have previously submitted a draft law aimed at limiting dual citizenship for all state officials to strengthen national loyalty.

The proposed legislation would apply to members of parliament, ministers, government officials, and directors of public enterprises without exception. SDSM is calling for the law to be returned to the Assembly's agenda immediately to prevent double standards among those holding public office.
