Sea turtle bites three people on Croatia's Kaštel Lukšić beach

Three beachgoers – two adults and a child – were bitten by a large sea turtle while swimming off Kaštel Lukšić on Croatia's Adriatic coast. The bites, which affected the buttocks, hands and back, resulted in minor injuries such as scratches and skin reddening. All three required assistance from the local emergency medical service, and one was referred for surgical evaluation, though the wounds were classified as light.

Police confirmed the incidents and noted that a similar turtle bite had occurred two days earlier on the island of Čiovo, where a 13‑year‑old was bitten on the buttocks. Medical authorities warned that turtle bites are not harmless and advised anyone injured to seek immediate professional care to prevent infection.

The events highlight the uncommon but potentially hazardous interactions between humans and marine wildlife along Croatia's beaches.
