SeABank's SSB stock added to MSCI Frontier Markets Index

SeABank (Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank) has been officially added to the MSCI Frontier Markets Index. The announcement was made by MSCI during its August 2026 review, with the change set to take effect on September 1, 2026.

Vietnam remains the largest market within the MSCI Frontier Markets Index, accounting for 29.12% of the total weight. The recent index restructuring saw the addition of six stocks and the removal of five, with all three newly added Vietnamese stocks belonging to the banking sector, including SeABank's SSB.

Inclusion in the index is determined by criteria such as market capitalization, free float, liquidity, and accessibility for international investors. This move is expected to increase the presence of SSB in institutional portfolios and may drive trading demand as exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and passive funds adjust their holdings to reflect the new index composition.
