Sead Šabanadžović named finalist for US research award

Professor Sead Šabanadžović, a virology expert at Mississippi State University, has been named a semifinalist for the 2026 Ralph E. Powe Research Excellence Award. This award recognizes lifetime scientific and research contributions.

Šabanadžović, who began his academic career in Sarajevo, has authored 135 scientific publications and 18 book chapters, garnering over 12,000 citations. He also serves a significant role in the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV), the body responsible for the classification and naming of viruses.
