Vinod Khosla denies Seattle Seahawks relocation plans

Vinod Khosla, the new owner of the Seattle Seahawks, has issued a forceful clarification regarding the future of the franchise following backlash over comments about potential relocation.

During a recent interview with Axios, Khosla was asked if he could guarantee the team would remain in Seattle long-term. He responded, “I will never say never. Will this team be in Seattle 500 years from now?” Although he noted there are no current plans to change the team's operations, coach, or stadium, the remark sparked significant concern among the fanbase and media.

Khosla addressed the uproar on X, stating that the franchise has “no plans to move the team, have never discussed it, haven’t even thought about it.” He accused reporters of distorting his words for clicks and sending the city “into a spiral for no reason.”

The Khosla family recently completed a record-breaking $9.612 billion purchase of the Seahawks from the estate of the late Paul Allen, the most expensive NFL franchise sale in history.
