Sealy Korea expands Yeoju factory to become Asia production hub

Sealy Korea has opened a new mattress production facility in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, doubling its previous production area to 15,183 square meters. The expansion increases the facility's production capacity from 300 trillion to 500 trillion won and raises the maximum workforce from 71 to 92 employees.

CEO Yoon Jong-hyo stated that the company aims to transform the Yeoju plant into a central manufacturing hub for the Asia-Pacific region. While currently exporting to Mongolia and Kazakhstan, the company is in discussions to expand exports to Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Sealy Korea plans to further enhance its capabilities by establishing a spring (coil) production plant by 2028 to mitigate logistics risks and achieve economies of scale.

The facility operates on a made-to-order basis, utilizing manual labor for most processes including quilting, sewing, and assembly to ensure high quality. The company also implements strict safety standards, using advanced equipment to monitor radon levels in its products to meet domestic safety regulations.
