Sean Alexander Meeks sentenced to 33 years for child exploitation network

Sean Alexander Meeks, a 49-year-old man from Lake Charles, Louisiana, has been sentenced to 33 years in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute child pornography. Meeks pleaded guilty in May to directing an online group used for exchanging child sexual content.

Investigators, including officials from the Department of Homeland Security and the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office in Texas, identified Meeks as the administrator of the group. Forensic analysis of his seized phone revealed 17 videos and two images depicting child sexual abuse.

Meeks is a recidivist, having previously been convicted in Vernon Parish in 2007 for possession of child pornography. Following his prison term, he will serve 15 years of supervised release.
