Sean Combs countersues Rodney Jones over alleged stolen Netflix footage

Sean “Diddy” Combs has filed a countersuit against producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, alleging that Jones stole private video footage and sold it to Netflix for use in the docuseries “Sean Combs: The Reckoning.”

According to court filings, Combs claims that during a 2022 trip to St. Barths, Jones abused his position of trust to gain unauthorized access to a videographer’s workstation. Combs alleges that Jones stole computer drives containing footage intended for a personal documentary about the music mogul’s life and instead provided the material to Netflix and executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.

In addition to the theft allegations, the countersuit accuses Jones of making defamatory statements within the Emmy-nominated documentary. This legal action follows a February 2024 lawsuit filed by Jones, who accused Combs of sexual assault, harassment, and unpaid work. Combs’ legal team maintains that the claims against him are part of a “campaign for revenge” to secure an undeserved payout.
