Sean Combs' lawyers seek to withdraw and hold files over unpaid fees
Law firm Sher Tremonte LLP has filed motions to withdraw from representing Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs in two separate legal matters, citing substantial unpaid fees and a lack of communication.
In the first instance, the firm is seeking to withdraw from the sexual assault and trafficking lawsuit filed by producer Rodney ‘Lil Rod’ Jones. The firm has requested a ‘retaining lien’ from U.S. District Judge J. Paul Oetken, which would allow them to hold Combs’ legal files until all outstanding balances are settled.
This follows a previous motion to exit a $100 million defamation suit involving Courtney Burgess, Ariel Mitchell, and Nexstar Media. Partner Michael Tremonte stated in a sworn declaration that Combs has not made any payments to the firm for over six months, with a substantial portion of the invoices being more than 90 days overdue. Additionally, the firm noted that Combs has declined to engage in substantive or direct communications regarding his cases for more than four months.
