Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ lawyers seek to withdraw over unpaid fees
The law firm Sher Tremonte LLP has filed a motion in the Southern District of New York to withdraw as legal counsel for Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs. The firm cited six months of unpaid invoices and a total breakdown in communication, stating that Combs has refused to engage in substantive or timely discussions regarding his legal matters for over four months.
The withdrawal impacts Combs’ ongoing legal battles, including a $100 million defamation lawsuit against Nexstar Media. This litigation stems from claims made on the NewsNation program ‘Banfield’ regarding Combs’ conduct at private parties.
Combs has offered a different account of the situation, claiming the separation was a mutual business decision. He alleged that he chose to change counsel to avoid being ‘ripped off’ by excessive and unapproved fees. However, partner Michael Tremonte has denied these claims, asserting that the firm provided efficient representation under challenging circumstances and that the withdrawal is strictly due to non-payment and lack of cooperation.
