Sean Dylan Kelly leads MotoAmerica Superbike race to Austin

The 2026 MotoAmerica Quad Lock Superbike Championship enters its penultimate round at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas. The title race remains highly competitive, with the top four riders separated by only 38 points and 125 points still available in the final two rounds.

Sean Dylan Kelly of OrangeCat Racing currently leads the standings with 250 points. Kelly, riding a BMW M 1000 RR, has achieved a podium finish in 80% of his races this season. He is followed by Mathew Scholtz of Strack Racing, who sits 17 points behind the leader on a Yamaha YZF-R1. JD Beach and Bobby Fong of Attack Performance Progressive Yamaha Racing occupy third and fourth place, trailing Kelly by 31 and 38 points, respectively.

The COTA circuit is noted for its technical difficulty, featuring a 130-foot elevation climb and demanding braking zones. Competitors will also face significant physical challenges due to forecasted Texas heat.
