Sean Feucht lawsuit dismissed by California federal judge
A California federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit against worship leader and activist Sean Feucht and his Let Us Worship movement. The lawsuit, filed by businessman Steve Bray, alleged fraudulent misrepresentation, negligent misrepresentation, unfair business practices, and civil theft by false pretenses.
The dispute involved a $250,000 donation made through the National Christian Foundation. Bray alleged the funds were used for personal purposes, including real estate. Feucht’s legal team argued that the donation was not earmarked for specific uses and that the ministry is protected by the First Amendment’s church autonomy doctrine.
U.S. District Judge David O. Carter dismissed the claims due to insufficient evidence and deficiencies in the allegations. The dismissal was made without prejudice, meaning Bray’s attorneys have 20 days to submit an amended complaint to address the court’s concerns.
