Sean Fitzpatrick warns All Blacks must be perfect against Springboks

New Zealand rugby legend Sean Fitzpatrick has emphasized that the All Blacks must achieve near-perfection to succeed in the upcoming four-Test series against South Africa. The series, marketed as the ‘Greatest Rivalry’, begins this Saturday at Ellis Park in Johannesburg.

Fitzpatrick, who captained the only New Zealand side to win a Test series in South Africa, noted that the All Blacks cannot afford errors such as yellow cards or poor scrums. He highlighted the intense pressure and the relentless nature of rugby in both nations, suggesting that concentration and minimizing mistakes will be decisive factors.

The extended tour includes matches in Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Baltimore, marking the first multi-match tour between the two giants since 1996. While the Springboks possess significant defensive speed and physical strength, Fitzpatrick noted that All Blacks head coach Dave Rennie is well aware of the challenges ahead.
