Sean Ono Lennon welcomes first child, Aurelius
Sean Ono Lennon, the 50-year-old son of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, has announced the birth of his first child. Alongside his long-time partner, musician and model Charlotte Kemp Muhl, the couple welcomed a son named Aurelius.
The news was shared via social media on September 1, 2026, with the couple posting photos of the newborn. Sean described the arrival by stating, “Charlotte and I have created a Human Bean! His name is Aurelius!”
Aurelius is the first biological grandchild of the late Beatles co-founder John Lennon. While Yoko Ono has grandchildren through her daughter Kyoko, this birth marks a new generation for the Lennon lineage. The name Aurelius is of Latin origin, meaning “golden.”
Sean and Charlotte, who have been in a relationship since 2007, have frequently collaborated on musical projects, including the duo The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger. The announcement drew congratulations from various public figures, including Patti Smith and Lindsay Lohan.
